What is Austin PPA?
Austin Professional Photographers Association, previously PPGA, is a non-profit organization that was established in 1950 by a small group of local working photographers who were also members of the Professional Photographers of America.
Our members are among the most skilled, talented, and professional photographers in the Austin and Central Texas area.
What do we do?
At Austin PPA, we guide members seeking to develop excellence in client work and members driving toward PPA degrees through competition, marketplace and industry participation activities.
Through monthly membership meetings and workshops, APPA brings in experts from around the country and from our own membership to share successful processes to help members improve their business, technical and artistic skills.
Meetings and workshops are currently being offered both in-person and through remote video conferencing.
APPA holds eleven image competitions each year (10 monthly and one annual), and offer awards, critiques and feedback to members to help them advance their business and improve their work. Our Master Photographers share their experiences as working, professional photographers and coach members on solutions they need to advance in the industry.
